If you still don't see your body, return to where you were last to see if it is there. Depending on the act, it may not be near the town center, so check all of it. This means your character was probably killed just as the server went down, and when you log back in, your body with its gear (minus any gold you were carrying) should be in town. If you log back on after a server crash and your character has no equipped gear, check the entire town to see if your body appears, This will be a bright pink X on the overlay map.Blizzard has made it clear that they never restore dead Hardcore characters for any reason, including problems with their own servers. Do not play any Hardcore characters until it's very clear that these server instability issues have been addressed and servers have remained stable for more than 24 hours.D2:R has suffered from stability issues since launch, but the last few days have been especially bad. What's clear from forum posts and social media responses is that D2:R players are losing patience. Update: This is the latest tweet from posted on Monday, October 11th, 7:45 AM PST (tweet is in EST): About an hour after this was posted, Blizzard EU CS stated they were still looking into problems and would report in another hour. At 5:07 AM PDT, posted another message, along with a message on the D2 login that they were looking into problems with the authentication server (tweet is in EST). While the servers came up again for awhile on Sunday, by Monday morning, October 11th, servers were down again. Players in North America, Europe, and South America were all reporting outages.īlizzard posted this tweet at 9:40 AM PST, October 10th (tweet is in EST): The servers were stable for short time following this post on Sunday, but once again, players were experiencing login delays and blank character screens. So far it does not seem that actual character loss has been permanent. Players who try to log onto a character and get the response "Your character is already in a game" for more than 24 hours should post their affected character name, region, platform, and Battletag in this official forum thread. Players are reporting lost items and stuck characters. About 8:30 AM PDT, Blizzard posted this on the D2 forums (please read the information given about rollbacks and their inability to restore lost items or progress): Servers went down Sunday morning for another round of maintenance. Despite 2.5 hours of emergency maintenance on October 9th meant to address this problem, the D2 servers went down again at about 6:00 AM PDT on Sunday, October 10th. Over the past weekend, Diablo II: Resurrected players experienced long stretches of server instability, including being unable to log on or create games, crashing to desktop, characters not showing up, sudden disconnects, and significant in-game lag.
We will see if this round of fixes holds. UPDATE: 10/12: Servers went down again for about 3.5 hours of more maintenance, but have come back online. UPDATE: 10/13: Servers are down again this morning (tweets in EST):
